This is the perfect film to announce that the summer movie season for 2009 is here. So what if "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" officially kicked-off the season? "Star Trek" is huge, moderately dumb, yet wholly entertaining and that's exactly what this season warrants. Another similarity it shares with most big budget summer blockbusters is the ludicrous turn it takes in its third act. All said and done this is the right direction for the franchise to take and like another reboot, "Batman Begins", hopefully they follow it up with something that's far more entertaining and makes atleast a tad big more sense.
